"Bronze by gold, Miss Kennedy's head by Miss Douce's head, appeared above the crossblind of the Ormond Hotel"

Almost the entire Sirens episode in Ulysses by James Joyce is set in the Ormond Hotel.  Currently, the developer, Monteco Holdings wishes to demolish the entire site and erect a six storey modern hotel and public bar at the Ormond Hotel and No 12/13 Ormond Quay Upper.  Although the development of this site is very much welcomed and long overdue, much more consideration must be given to preserving the facade of this important literary heritage site and also to preserve the wonderful liffeyscape and riversides.

Help us to save and preserve the heritage of  Dublin and its literary legacies.

The planning application No 3008/13 is currently before Dublin City Council Planning Office waiting for a decision and can be viewed online.
